The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
Collaborates with GDS leadership on the Europe GDC stand up process.
The BIM (Building Information Modeling) Manager is responsible for implementing GDS BIM initiative for Transportation and Water Projects within Europe GDC, but also assisting other GDCs.
Requires identification, development, evaluation, implementation and management of BIM standards and procedures.
Develops and implements BIM standards, templates, automation routines, documentation and workflow process standards. Capable of defining a BIM Strategy for a specific client/Project, but also a BIM Execution Plan and workflows to coordinate better the participation of different parties involved.
Trains and oversees the day to day activities of BIM Modelers/Engineers to ensure BIM standards are maintained in the creation of 3D models.
Audits BIM models and creates federated models.
Assists with different software packages (Civil3D, Revit, Aecosim, OpenRoads, etc.), detailing, quantity takeoff, family creation, parametric 3D modeling as per project requirements.
Participates in project meetings and facilitates regularly-scheduled meetings related to BIM execution and deliverables for the project.
Implements applications and processes to integrate project data such as but not limited to schedule, estimate, documentation, cost reports and performance data etc. to 3D models to develop an integrated information rich model.
Helps with transportation/water and heavy civil design coordination with 3D models, 4D CAD simulations and clash detection tests using various coordination tools such as Navisworks, BIM360, etc.
Works with GDS leadership to prepare proposals and do assessment of packages of work susceptible of being off-shored to GDS group.
Categorizes packages of work off-shored to the GDS group, elaborates project execution plans and in combination with Home Office defines the BIM strategy, including composition of design teams.
Partners with GDC offices to ensure delivery and execution challenges are understood.
Responsible for leading a BIM team working for internal clients, integrating resources from different GDS offices (Spain, Poland, India, etc.)
Initiates and directs the planning, development, and continuous monitoring of the project scope, procedures, budget and schedule for the packages of work off-shored to the GDS group.
Reviews and validates all comments received from Project's representatives (owners, contractors, AECOM owning geo, etc.) on a specific discipline and coordinates timely resolutions to maintain project schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
Performs quality control of works accomplished by members of a team.
Approves and signs designs undertaken by other members of the team, assuming the responsibility.
As a BIM specialist makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on that specific field.
As an individual consultant, formulates and guides the attack on problems of exceptional difficulty and marked importance to the organization or industry
Mentors and manages staff on projects.
