At LoveToKnow Media we are seeking an Image Specialist to work with YourDictionary’s editorial team to identify and place stock images and create custom visuals. 

The Image Specialist will work as part of a team responsible for identifying and placing images for editorial content on YourDictionary (yourdictionary), using images from approved, licensed sources. Each Image Specialist will review content that has been tagged as needing images and select or create appropriate contextual photographs and graphics from stock and original sources to illustrate the article, slideshow, or other online content. The Image Specialist will work with the editorial team to ensure that all photographs and visual images meet the site’s highest standards for quality, look and feel.

Applicants should include a link to their portfolio and/or include samples of images they have designed/created and selected for articles.

At this moment we’re only able to accept people holding EU citizenship or EU Blue Card for Spain as we do NOT provide visa sponsorships. If you’re not in Barcelona at the moment, your position will be remote at your location up until 2-3 months after signing the contract.

Sourcing high-quality images for articles and other content.
Work with our existing stock photo library sources as well as procure images from private sources by finding necessary images and making a request for permission.
Adding those images using a content management system (CMS).
Editing images to provide the best quality, which includes cropping to better highlight the subject/focus of the image.
Creating graphics such as illustrations, infographics and tables.
Creating PDF files of graphics.
Creating editable, printable documents in PDF format.
Working with the editorial team to ensure that images are added in a timely manner.

What you will need to be successful

At least 1 year of professionally selecting and editing digital photographs. Familiar with photo editing software tools for cropping, sharpening, straightening, feathering, resizing, cloning, brightness/contrast, levels and other skills necessary to modify images.
Able to match informative online content with compelling images that add value.
Proficiency with a wide range of Adobe products, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
Skilled in designing original, creative vector graphics.
Image optimization and color enhancement skills.
Familiarity with a variety of image file formats and conversion tools.
Good eye for layout design and consistency and image positioning.
Ability to work independently and within deadlines.
Comfortable with online communication and collaboration tools, including project management.
Strong knowledge of copyright laws and regulations for web content.
Great communication skills.(English B2-C2 CEFR diplomas are highly valued).
High attention to detail.
Knowledge of LiveCycle and other image tools is a plus.
