Medical Science Liaison – Infectious Diseases
As Ortho Clinical Diagnostics continues to grow, we are seeking to appoint a Global Medical Science Liaison - Infectious Diseases Pathway, under the supervision of the VP of Medical Affairs, will be responsible for mapping current trends in infectious disease clinical pathways to customer needs satisfied by current and future clinical products at Ortho. We are open to applicants from a range of locations, including: Pencoed or Wooburn Green, UK; Milan, Italy: Madrid, Spain: Paris or Strasbourg, France and Prague, Czechia.
Your new role:
As a Global Medical Science Liaison - Infectious Diseases, you will be responsible for mapping current trends in infectious disease clinical pathways to customer needs satisfied by current and future clinical products at Ortho, especially Clinical Infectious Disease & Transfusion Medicine Safety related infection.
In this role you will actively engage with customers, scientific Key Opinion Leaders (both clinical pathology and Infection control), review current literature and attend Infectious Diseases related conferences.
You will have expert knowledge of infection as a disease process, treatment modalities and pathways, (e.g. infection control) and the process of conducting medical clinical research. In addition, you will utilize evidence-based clinical practice and have expertise in care pathway decisions in respiratory infection, sepsis and blood borne pathogens. As the successful candidate you will possess strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. You will have knowledge of current literature and have an unwavering commitment to continue learning.
What you’ll be doing:
Survey Respiratory Infection and Sepsis Literature in mapping latest trends in testing and treating of infectious diseases
Create care pathway maps for in vitro diagnostic testing and therapy for COVID-19, Influenza and other infectious disease including transfusion related medicine related infectious diseases.
Communicate with Key Opinion Leaders and society leaders in affirming new trends and querying care pathways at specific hospitals. Attend Scientific Congresses.
Collaborate with Medical Affairs Physicians in crafting and testing strategic direction.
What you’ll need to succeed:
The ideal candidate will be a Doctor of Medicine (MD). We would also be open to those with an advanced degree (Master's, PhD or MD) in Pharmacy or a related field.
5 years of hospital experience in Internal Medicine & Infectious Diseases. Infection Control Team experience is highly desirable, but not essential.
Demonstrated communication skills.
Hospital Process Experience in Patient Care.
Previous experience in clinical research is a strong plus.
Experience in developing publications is a plus.
