The Rapid Response Team is a cross function team with skills, tools, and processes to rapidly resolve customer issues which have been escalated via a defined process. This includes complex issues at handover stage requiring a focused team to bring items to closure and post-handover urgent issues impacting functionality and loss of throughout requiring immediate assistance.
The RRT Linear Sorter Specialist Engineer will provide the technical competence integral to this team.
This role is required to provide a high level of technical expertise, as a trusted and valued source of knowledge, this role will be responsible for resolving issues at site and remotely- at speed with consistent quality, using methodical and validated processes.
Role will include regular and proactive engagement with client and Dematic stakeholders at regional and global level to review issues, resolution plans and lessons learnt for risk mitigation.
Carry out on site activities to resolve issues, including trouble shooting, changes to settings and code
Remote guidance to customer or Dematic on site team
Remote guidance /advice to hot desk team
Analysis of issues and failures
Create documentation pack to provide end to end overview of an issue including, initial problem reported, evidence, changes required etc.
Execute/support assigned RCA (Root Cause Analysis) on product or solution deficiencies identified during installation or operation of Dematic delivered products or systems.
Complete work using defined best practice procedures and product procedures/limitations
To be the “trusted advisors” that can help project teams and PMs navigate through technical conversations
Validate changes and work with Dematic Mgrs to achieve customer acceptance that issue is closed
To liaise with Product Management and R&D if RCA identifies product issues
Where necessary collect and review data to provide guidance and issue close out
To proactively support and implement Process Excellence activities
Document and maintain account standards in central repository
Capture and validate lessons learned
Mentor and develop team members as required
Provide feedback to quality and safety compliance team
Interact with Dematic internal teams such as project delivery, manufacturing, finance, safety, and procurement
Interaction with vendors for improvement activities
Presentation of engineering solutions, strategy and reviews to customer and Dematic Leadership will be required.
Support execution team with controls engineering tasks
To deliver continuous process improvements in efficiency of the department.
The preparation of reports and reviews as requested by customer team
What We Are Looking For
Essential: Certified technician, HNC/HND or equivalent in Controls Engineering
Desirable: Graduate with degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
Essential: - A minimum of 3 years of experience in Controls Design Role
Desirable: A minimum of 3 years of experience in Dematic Controls Design Role
Desirable: Dematic SL2 linear sorter commissioning experience, and SL2 training completion . Or similar experience with other linear sorter
Desirable: Extensive knowledge of Dematic products and design tools
To support the geographical spread of the business there will be the need to support activities across the EMEA region and Globally.
This will necessitate travel outside of the ‘home country’, mainly across the EMAR region but occasionally to other destinations as well.
